Woodbridge’s Fitzgerald Elementary Opens With Grand Ceremony

27 August, 2008 (18:19) | Uncategorized, kids, people

School leaders said Fannie W. Fitzgerald Elementary School is the Neabsco District’s first new elementary school in 30 years. On hand for the opening was Fannie W. Fitzgerald herself (at right in top picture) — the school’s namesake as well as her daughter, Benita Fitzgerald (fourth picture). The school sits on a road named after the younger Fitzgerald, who won an Olympic gold medal in the ‘84 Olympics. Standing by the ribbon is third-grade teacher William J. Lyon (fifth picture). The school also had a come meet your kids teacher day and I’m proud to show my son getting to meet his new kindergarten teachers.
